/The Nanaimo Pickleball Club's Code of Conduct identifies its respectful play guidelines and the expectations of members' behavior while on and off the court. The Code reflects the growth of the game and changes in social attitudes over the past decade. We are recognizing new expectations of behavior and the importance of inclusivity in our sport. Any member who feels they have been compromised, or any member who witnessed an incident, can and should report this complaint by completing the form below at the address displayed. NPC members participating in programs, activities or events have a responsibility to maintain and enhance the dignity and self-esteem of all NPC members and visiting individuals by: • Demonstrate respect for every person regardless of physical characteristics, athletic ability, age, ancestry, color, race citizenship, ethnic origin, creed, disability, family, economic or marital status, gender identity or expression of sexual orientation. • Focus comments appropriately and avoid public criticism of athletes, coaches, • officials, organizers, volunteers, employees, or members. • Consistently demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship, sport leadership and ethical conduct. • Act, when appropriate, to correct or prevent practices that are unjustly discriminatory. • Consistently treating individuals fairly and reasonably. • Follow the rules of Pickleball and the spirit of those rules. Respectful Conduct: NPC has a responsibility to its members to: • Investigate incidents and concerns brought forward by its members deemed to be in breach of respectful sportsmanship, • Provide an appeal process to ensure thorough encourage investigation. • Take corrective action when there is a breach of Respectful Conduct Policy. The NPC discipline committee may decide on any of the following actions: o A verbal warning to offending member restating concern. o A letter of warning outlining incident, the findings and NPC expectations. o Extreme incidents may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
