Treasurer
Although I have been a member of the club since 2018, I have only been playing consistently since 2020. Work pressures have gotten in the way but no more, fully retired now, I’m having a lot of fun playing Pickleball and I realize that the executive and other volunteers have very much helped to make it so. Now I want to contribute in any way that I can. I’m looking forward to working with a great group of people who are like minded and want a better Nanaimo Pickleball Club for us all.

I have been playing pickleball since 2017 and love the competitive, social, and all-round fun aspects of the game. I joined the Executive as the Club's Secretary in 2024 and look forward to assisting the Club and advancing the sport in any way I can. "Paddles up and hold the line!!".

I joined NPC in the fall of 2024 when I started my pickleball journey. I’ve really come to love the game, but what stands out most are all the amazing people I’ve met along the way. I really appreciate all the hard work of the Executive Board and hope I can help NPC’s continue growth while being an advocate for all the members.”

Three years ago I played my first game of pickleball in my local community hall, I left the hall that day with a grin from ear to ear, I haven’t looked back since. I was immediately take back by the sense of community on the courts that day combined with the opportunity to get back out and play a competitive sport, I felt like a kid again. I have been playing pickleball regularly ever since as-well-as promoting the sport in my community, volunteering facilitating pickleball session for the RDN, obtaining my level 1 certification to teach learn to play in the community, petitioning for courts in the community and joining the Nanaimo Pickleball Club. Last year I became more involved in volunteering for the Nanaimo Pickleball Club, and look forward to serving the club members as a new member of executive team.

I grew up in Abbotsford BC. Graduated from University of Alberta in 1984. Worked for CIBC for 34 years, all in BC. Married with 3 kids, who are now all married!! And have 3 grand children. I retired 8 years ago. That’s when I learned about pickelball! I joined the club in 2019 and have been hooked ever since! I really enjoy the game but also really enjoy the people. I decided it was time to give back to the club so I joined the Executive in early 2026. See you all on the court!

I have been playing pickleball since 2013. Not only do I love the fun, competitive nature of the game, I have enjoyed getting to know some amazing individuals. I am looking forward to helping the executive with new memberships and giving back to a sport that I have grown to love.

I’m not sure what I did BP(Before Pickleball) but I assure you, it wasn’t as fun! This sport has granted me an opportunity to meet great people, stay active, and have many laughs. Thank you to my pickleball community for enriching my retirement. I look forward to giving back to this growing club.

Donna was imported from Alberta in 2017 to work, and then retire on the island. Her first encounter with pickleball was in 2024 whereby she became immediately obsessed. Now on step two of going down the rabbit hole she is enjoying volunteering with the Club.
